Here at Crossing the Tees we love to bring in the perspectives of many art forms, which is why in the past we’ve had poets and illustrators in residence at the Festival.
In 2022 we fancy a bit of film, so we’re calling out now for a filmmaker who can create two pieces – one in time for our launch, and a smaller one capturing some memories of the Festival week itself.
The ideal candidate will live in Teesside or have strong ties to the area; will value what libraries do for our communities; and will be both enthusiastic and imaginative in telling people’s stories.
Library staff will help them make connections with some of the many groups and individuals who use libraries across the Tees Valley, so that together they can respond to our strapline theme for 2022 – “We Hope This Finds You Well”.
The deadline for applications is Monday 6th December, and work should be completed by June 2022. We’re deliberately giving this as long a lead-in time as possible, so freelancers and disabled artists can have the best possible shot of applying and planning their work schedules for the coming year.
So please do share this with the film-maker in your life!
